? Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman?s appearance at the Republican National Convention left some in southwestern Connecticut a little confused Tuesday night.
?I?m here to support John McCain because country matters more than party,? he said at the convention.
While local Republicans are accepting the crossover, local Democrats are furious.
Lieberman was a Democratic vice presidential nominee eight years ago. Then, he turned Independent in 2006 to hold his Senate seat. Now, he has spoken at the Republican National Convention, where he even took a few jabs at the Democratic nominee.
Generally, both sides believe Lieberman will be in line for a cabinet position if McCain wins in November.
