Norwalk Community College was turned into a movie set Thursday as a student film project got under way with the help of nearly 40 community members.
Film Project Coordinator Stoney Duren says the aim of the project is to help create a film workforce within Connecticut, as more film studios are filming in the area. News 12 Connecticut sat in as the students built sets and rehearsed.
NCC will place the students in the moviemaking program with real film companies in the next few months.
The program was made possible by a $250,000 grant from the state. Officials at the schools say they hope to continue the program next year.
