Officials on Long Island say limited train service has returned just in time for Monday morning's commute after dozens of people were hurt in a train derailment over the weekend.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said a train doing maintenance work violated the clearance space of a commuter train and they "side-swiped" each other Saturday night.
Officials say seven employees and 26 commuters were hurt.
They say the Long Island Rail Road train was carrying about 600 people when it derailed.
Limited westbound service was restored on the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Oyster Bay branches for this morning's rush hour.
Costumers are being told to anticipate 20- to 30-minute delays and consider using alternative branches as the LIRR operates via one of two mainline tracks.
