A Stratford resident and owner of a local limo company has some advice for travelers hitting the roads this holiday season to avoid highway traffic.
Stevie Winston, of Winston's Limo, suggests leaving early if you're heading out of Connecticut, especially if you're going southbound.
"Rush hour in New York starts at 5:30 a.m., and it's bumper-to-bumper,” said Winston. “It starts in Connecticut at 6 a.m., so I advise leaving at 5 a.m. or earlier."
He said if you have to leave on a Friday or a Sunday, the worst days for traffic, take back roads and avoid the interstates.
