School officials in the town of Litchfield cited a large gathering as their reason for switching the entire school district to distance learning today.
In a letter to parents, the superintendent says multiple students from several of the town's schools all attended a weekend gathering where they had prolonged exposure to a case of COVID-19.
Details of the event were not given, but the superintendent says contract tracing is underway.
The school system says all of its buildings will be deep cleaned Saturday, and a decision about when buildings will reopen will be made this weekend.
