A local chef and "Chopped" champion was on hand at a Bridgeport summer camp today to teach a cooking class to campers.

5h agoA local chef and "Chopped" champion was on hand at a Bridgeport summer camp today to teach a cooking class to campers.
"Chopped' champion Danny Brelsford taught the class at the Cardinal Shehan Center today.
After last summer with fewer campers than usual due to COVID-19, Bridgeport's summer camp program at the Shehan Center is once again in high demand this year.
The campers got a lesson from the chopped champ on how to make a pizza.
Kids at the camp say they were excited to learn from Brelsford.
"He was on Food Network, and he said he met like John Cena and a lot of people," one camper said.
Brelsford is also a lieutenant at a local fire department and grew up playing basketball at the Shehan Center, which made today's event extra special, he says.
