Communities are coming together to celebrate the rich history of their towns with Colonial Day.
The special event, hosted by the Westport Historical Society, has crafts, and games for people in the community to come enjoy that date back to the 18th century.
The celebration is meant to inform people of what it was like in the 1700s and be thankful for the conveniences we have now.
"We like to celebrate events like this one,” said Nicole Carpenter, the director of Programs and Education at the Westport Historical Society. “History is our communities’ collective memory. Without memory and without history, we can't build on our future."
There were also celebrations to remember the colonial past in Norwalk Saturday.
