After shopping at larger stores on Black Friday, folks across southwestern Connecticut shopped at mom-and-pop shops as part of Small Business Saturday.
Small business owners say the day is important to help the community grow. Orange Chamber of Commerce member Katerina Miller says shopping local is not just important for the local economy, but also for the state economy.
In Orange, there are many different retailers with plenty to offer.
Wild Acorns is one of these retailers. The gourmet food store carries a lot of organic products including oils and vinegars. Customers can also make their own trail mix and grind their own peanut butter.
This is the fifth year that retailers have hosted Small Business Saturday.
