Aquarion Water Company is preparing for a major two-year project to install a new 36-inch water main from the Hemlocks Reservoir in Fairfield to Coleytown Road in Westport.

The project is set to begin in August and is expected to run through June 2028, with four crews installing about 54 feet of pipe per day between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Because the work involves open-cut installation and wide trenches, drivers should expect traffic disruptions along the entire route.

Aquarion will post updates on its website, and questions can be directed to the company’s project line.
