One of the oldest restaurants in Westport is closing.
It is the end of an era for Mario's Place, the Italian restaurant across from the train station. The family that's owned the restaurant for decades will serve their last meals on Saturday night.
Mario's was opened by Frank DeMace and Mario Sacco in 1967. When Frank passed away in 2012, his family continued to run the restaurant.
They say they still own the building, but the restaurant will be under new management and eventually change names.
