First responders in Stamford are mourning the loss of a 39-year-old civil servant killed in a car accident Friday.
Randy Samaha worked for 15 years in Stamford as a volunteer firefighter and a public safety dispatcher. Samaha was getting his family dinner Friday at the corner of Ferry Boulevard and Barnum Avenue Cutoff in Stratford when he crashed into a median.
Samaha's Chrysler minivan was going westbound on Barnum Avenue Cutoff when officials say he drove off the road and struck a tree. Samaha was the only person in the car and died later at Bridgeport Hospital.
Samaha leaves behind a wife and two young children. Funeral services are being arranged and are expected to be held Tuesday in Stamford.
