The nonprofit Ana Grace Project is hosting a community drive Friday in honor of the victims of the Sandy Hook School shooting that happened 7 years ago.
Through November and early December, the community drive accepted donations of toys, new winter clothing, toiletries, and food.
The group says they will continue to collect donations today between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. in front of CCSU's Davidson Hall.
Saturday marks the seventh anniversary of the Sandy Hook School shooting where 20 students and six educators were killed in Newtown, Connecticut.
Last year, the group's first community drive resulted in thousands of toys, food, and new clothing items that we boxed and delivered to those in need in the community.
All of this year's items will be donated to the city of New Britain where the police department will distribute them to those in need during an event Sunday.
