Loved ones remember those lost in Sept. 11 attacks at Sherwood Island State Park

Twenty-two years later, family members continued with the tradition of reading the names of those lost in the attack.

Connecticut gathered at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport Thursday to remember the people who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Family members read the names of their loved ones
Twenty-two years later, family members continued with the tradition of reading the names of those lost in the attack. They say this ritual brings back the hope they felt in the days and weeks after the attacks, of how the state and country came together in a time of grieving.
The ceremony is held a few days before Sept. 11 each year to provide Connecticut families the chance to reflect locally and attend the memorial service in New York City on the anniversary.
