Now is the time to hit the stores and celebrate Connecticut's one-week sales tax holiday.
Lt. Governor Bysiewicz kicked off the holiday in West Hartford Monday.
This week, retail purchases for most clothing and footwear items under $100 will be exempt from the state's sales and use tax. It's just in time for the back-to-school season.
"I'm hoping that families will take the opportunity this week through Saturday to purchase all of the back-to-school clothing and footwear that they need for their kids, but you don't have to have children to take advantage of this opportunity." said Bysiewicz.
Connecticut's sales tax-free week ends Saturday Aug. 26.
