Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz touted the importance of resident participation in the upcoming 2020 Census at the New Canaan Library.

Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz touted the importance of resident participation in the upcoming 2020 Census at the New Canaan Library.
Bysiewicz spoke at the library Monday and encouraged those in the audience to spread the word about participating in the census.

She says the census helps determine how many congressional representatives each state gets and how much funding Connecticut will receive from the federal government. But the only way to determine that is for residents to fill out the census.  
Officials say for the first time, the census will be available to fill out online, and employees at the New Canaan Library say they are ready to help people with questions.
