It's Friday and that means it's time for Main Street, Connecticut. A chance to visit some of our towns and cities and showcase the many attractions they have to offer. Today. We're in Greenwich News 12 Connecticut. Uh Mark Sudha. Well, he starts us off at Buys European Market and Deli Mark. Good morning, Becky. I feel like I'm finally back home. These are my people, my Polish people, Arthur Butter Seitz is here to join us this morning. I just asked him how he was. He said good. So, uh first of all, let me talk about all the goodies that you have here in the case you get the Kielbasa, the pierogies. What else you got here? We have Kielbasa with sauerkraut. We have stuffed cabbage. We have beef goulash. Two different kinds of pierogies. Today is Friday which is our potato pancake day and wan which is a polish noodle with smoked bacon cabbage and onion. Now you said you've been here about only four months. So how's it been going so far? It's been going pretty well. Um Sorry, she just, yeah, it's been going ok. The summer is a little slow but we're trying to get some exposure so we can get the traffic coming through. Now, having grown up in Stanford, do you find, it's hard to find a good Polish place? Yeah. Absolutely. Right. Yeah, it's, you can't compare with mom's cooking. So, having my mom working with me and, you know, making home fresh, cooked meals every day with no GMO and, you know, it's just stuff that feeds your soul and speaking of feeding your soul, I'm going to feed mine right now. This, uh, the Kielbasa you have here. Now, this is, you guys don't make this right. Uh Correct. No, we do get orders in from other distributors. But these distributors have heavy Polish influence. They're made with, you know, Polish butching butchering techniques. And, I mean, look at these potato and cheese Barros. Um, I shouldn't talk to my mouthful but we're gonna see you, Becky in our next hour. We're gonna get some barbecue that's coming up. Ok. We need to get, uh, our radish Shoki over there to have some breakfast with you. Yes. Send them over. All right. Well, let's just check the traffic.

It's Friday. It's time for Main Street Connecticut. A chance to visit some of our towns and cities and showcase some of the many attractions they have to offer today. We're in Greenwich News. 12 Connecticut, Mark Suit. All it takes us to Mason Street barbecue in Green. Hey there, Becky. Yeah, we're gonna, uh, introduce you to Joshua Caspi here at Main Street barbecue. He's gonna introduce us to his friend Trudy, uh, the smoker and, and, uh, how you like this thing, huh? Lo love it. This is a, uh, this is 1000 gallon Texas style offset smoker. We had, uh, custom made in San Antonio by Jesse James Smokers. And this is our, uh, our firebox. So we just get her, get it started in the morning. Get nice and hot. Get up the temps, get the meat on, got a 16 hour smoke going in there, briskets, pulled pork, beef ribs, the gamut. And when it's done, we, we come on in here, we get the food truck, right. This is our food truck. We do, uh, private events all over Connecticut and, uh, Westchester County. Uh, we do GYFL football on Sundays at the uh Greenwich High School and we're having an Oktoberfest event on October 6th here on site at 275 Mason Street. Uh It will be um, about 1000 people live bands, Grig Street, pizza, Nant Taco be here. So dynamite. So let me ask you this as we get to look at this beautiful brisket. By the way, you were a real estate developer. How did you decide to do this? So, I uh I made friends with a uh a chef that works at a restaurant in New York City for Charles. And we fell in love with uh Texas style smoking and we talked about opening a spot here and I kind of shied away from it. And then I said, you know what, let's go for it. So that's what we did. We found a pit master named Ryan Cuber from Stanford. He's uh incredible pit master. He's been doing this 15 years. That's the flat you're eating right there. That's got a little on the top. It's uh pretty phenomenal. And then we got burn ends over here and then, but it was like butter Joshua. Thank you so much. Delicious Becky. We got one more stop today. Little tag sale. It's Friday time for main street, Connecticut. A chance to visit some of our towns and cities and showcase some of the many attractions they have to offer today were in Greenwich News. 12, Connecticut's Mark Suit all. Is that a tag sale hosted by the Women's Club of Green Mark? Oh, Becky, there's all kinds of deals here. I mean, great things, uh to see and do here. The tag sale by the way is going to be today and tomorrow from 10 to 4, we have two lovely guests with us this morning. We have Minnie who is 90 years young and Betty, who's gonna be turning 85. Is that right? So tell, so tell me, uh, what, uh, what will the, the, the tag sale uh support here in Greenwich? We have 12 organizations in the town of Greenwich that we support. And, uh, it's a philanthropic uh group, group, Phil, anthropic group. And I said, yeah, yeah. So anyway, we're here and we hope to make lots of money so we can continue our donations to the various uh charities in the town of Greenwich, including uh scholarships to the high school, uh Audubon, uh meals on wheels. Uh You name it. So, Betty, how many years have you been doing this? And, and how much do you hope to raise? Well, as much as we can raise. But we, I, I think we'll be very successful this year. We have a lot of good donations and that's the key to keeping this going. This is uh an annual event, tag sale. Uh We reach out to the community and they really help us. Um, we've been, the building has been in existence since 1910, which is, it's an older building. So it's really hard to keep it supported because you know about owning a house. Oh, yeah, there's always something that has to be, something's gotta get done. Right. Well, thank you so much. Both of you for being here this morning, Becky, some great deals.
