A Greenwich man was arrested and is facing voyeurism and child pornography charges.
The Greenwich Police Department took Deane Flood Jr., 53, into custody on Wednesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Flood was a teacher for Eagle Hill School in Greenwich, he was fired immediately and barred from Eagle Hill’s campus and properties, according to school officials.
Police said they received a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline indicating that child pornography had been downloaded to a device in town.
Investigators said Flood's phone received pornographic images and contained several videos of children playing and conducting normal day-to-day activities.
Police said the videos were taken privately and appeared to be filmed in a manner that would indicate “parental consent was not given.”
Officers obtained search and seizure warrants for Flood's workplace, home and vehicle to search for any devices containing additional child pornography or voyeuristic images.
Flood charges include three counts of voyeurism and possession of child pornography.
He is being held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 28.
Gretchen Larkin, the head of Eagle Hill school released the following statement:
“Eagle Hill’s top priority is the safety and wellbeing of our students. As soon as we became aware of the charges against a faculty member, the employee was removed from campus, placed on unpaid administrative leave and barred from Eagle Hill’s campus and properties. We are deeply troubled by this news and are working closely and cooperating fully with law enforcement.”
