A fatal car crash occurred late Sunday night in Shelton, sending one man to the hospital where he later died.
The accident happened near the intersection of Commerce and Research drives, according to police.
When officers arrived on the scene, the vehicle was engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to pull a male driver from the burning car and he was rushed to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
