A man died in police custody in Milford Sunday.

Police say they arrested the man Saturday after discovering a warrant out for his arrest during a traffic stop.

While he was being processed, he started to show signs of medical distress.

He was taken to a hospital and released hours later.

The man was found unresponsive in his jail cell Sunday morning and later pronounced dead.           

Police are investigating the cause of his death.
