A federal grand jury in Bridgeport has indicted a man from Peru for trying to put together a murder-for-hire scheme in Stamford.
Prosecutors say Larry Talledo-Torrejon, 29, agreed to pay $300,000 to purchase a restaurant in Stamford earlier this month.
They say he paid half of that amount and he then asked an acquaintance to follow the current manager of the restaurant home, murder him and then forge paperwork saying the other $150,000 he owed was paid off.
Police say Talledo-Torrejon's unidentified acquaintance turned him in and never went through with the murder.
