Police say a man lost control of his SUV Saturday afternoon and plowed through several front yards before crashing into a seven-foot deep river in Fairfield.
Officials say the 42-year-old driver, from Easton, may have a medical condition that contributed to his loss of control. Neighbors who witnessed the crash say the scene looked like one out of a movie. Fire officials say the car tore through lawns and bushes and eventually ended up wedged between two retaining walls on the riverbank.
Authorities say the driver suffered non-life threatening injuries. Crews say gasoline and other fluids that leaked from the car were cleaned up before harming any wildlife.
