Police say a box truck collided with a car early Monday morning in Fairfield.
The accident happened at around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Burroughs Road and Black Rock Turnpike. Police say a wayward box truck collided with a Pontiac Grand Am, trapping 28-year-old Robert Jones, of Fairfield, inside the vehicle.
First responders rescued Jones from the badly damaged vehicle.
Jones remains in the hospital with serious injuries from the crash.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
