The Maritime Chevrolet in Fairfield hosted a Clear the Shelter pet adoption event on Wednesday.
The Pet Animal Welfare Society of Connecticut brought several of their dogs and cats to the event, which are ready to find their forever homes.
Attendees were able to meet and interact with the pets, speak with adoption counselors and learn more about the adoption process.
Kerry Dobson, executive director of
PAWS, explained her hopes for potential adoptions at the event, in addition to noting how word of mouth and social media can increase the organization's visibility and lead to future adoptions.
Organizers say every adoption brings them one step closer to clearing the shelter and giving pets a second chance.
They encourage anyone considering a pet to visit and make a difference.
