Fairfield police are seeking the public's help in finding a man who they say wore a Halloween mask while robbing a 7-Eleven store.

The incident happened at the 7-Eleven location on Reef Road, right down the street from a police station, after 11 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, the suspect entered the store and threatened the clerk with a knife before fleeing with nearly $500 in cash. The suspect apparently dropped the bag of cash and had to return to retrieve it.

The clerk was not hurt, but police say he waited five minutes before reporting the robbery.

Police describe the suspect as a man of medium height and a husky build. They say he was wearing a skull mask, gloves, a striped hooded sweatshirt and baggy jeans at the time.
