Mayor Bill de Blasio is headed out of the country.
The city's first family is leaving Friday for a 10-day trip to Italy, which will be the longest vacation by a mayor in recent memory.
Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg never went away for a full week during his 12 years in office and former Mayor Rudy Giuliani only took off a handful of days.
De Blasio says he will come back if there's a crisis.
