Mayor John Fabrizi (D-Bridgeport) took a hands-on approach Saturday to show Bridgeport taxpayers the progress the city is making.
Fabrizi hopped onto a near-packed trolley to give residents a tour of the city?s south, and west end and downtown. Fabrizi used the opportunity to highlight progress in getting dilapidated properties back on the tax roll. The mayor says places like the former Warnaco factory and former Jefferson School on Myrtle Avenue are being turned into condominiums and other types of housing. Fabrizi believes housing will attract new residents, who will pump money into Bridgeport?s economy.
Many residents who participated in the tour said they are pleased to see the city taking a turn for the positive. The tour was the third in a series and is free, but reservations are required.
