The Meadow Ridge Senior Living Community in Redding has begun construction on a new solar installation project, led by residents aiming to reduce the community's carbon footprint.
The project, directed by 90-year-old resident and Solar Committee chair Susan Auslander, aims to generate approximately 900,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity.
According to Brett Mehlman, chief operating officer of Meadow Ridge, the project has been in development for nearly a decade.
The solar installation is expected to take around four months to complete.
