The high school football state playoffs begin Wednesday, and one area team is celebrating with some school history.
For the first time, Bunnell will host a state playoff game in Stratford at Mastroni Field.
"It means a lot," head coach Ty Jenkins told News 12. "We always wanted it to happen, so to see it come to fruition with the great teams and the great players we've had come through this program, it's exciting."
The Bulldogs, which earned the No. 3 seed in Class MM after finishing with an 8-2 regular season record, will welcome Fitch to Stratford on Wednesday night.
A win would earn Bunnell a spot in the CIAC semifinals scheduled for Monday, Dec. 8.
