The deaths of a couple found inside their Woodbridge home Friday have been ruled a murder-suicide, according to the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Woodbridge police were called to the Orchard Road home around 11:50 a.m. Friday for a well-being check.
Officers entered through a rear window and found two people dead inside.
William Karales shot Joann Karales before turning the gun on himself.
The medical examiner determined that William Karales died from a gunshot wound to the head and ruled his death a suicide.
Joann Karales died from a gunshot wound to the neck, and her death was ruled a homicide.
The investigation involved Woodbridge detectives and the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit.
