Member of Bridgeport gang pleads guilty to racketeering offenses

A member of Bridgeport’s Original North End Gang pleaded guilty Wednesday to racketeering offenses.
Amire Newsome, 20, pleaded guilty following an investigation that found he possessed a variety of drugs and guns with extended magazines.
Authorities say the investigation also found that he participated with other gang members in the theft and possession of stolen cars, some of which were used in gang-related shootings.
Newsome was involved in the shooting of a rival gang member’s mother in 2021, according to authorities.
