Metro-North is back on track Tuesday after late-night storms trapped nearly 6,000 passengers in New York City.
Greenwich fire officials say the New Haven line shut down around 10:45 p.m. Monday. The storm knocked a tree on top of a propane tank off of Field Point Road, about 40 feet from the train tracks.
Fire officials say the tank began spewing propane into the air. Firefighters sprayed water in an effort to diffuse the gas cloud while technicians worked to seal the leak.
The fire chief says no one was hurt.
