Metro-North says it is expanding service during off-peak hours.
Gov. Dannel Malloy announced Wednesday that starting Nov. 9, Metro-North will begin offering three additional off-peak trains during the week, and four additional weekend trains between New Haven and New York City. The extra trains mean passengers using the line off-peak will now see trains every half hour.
Malloy says this should help reduce congestion on the highways.
Passengers who ride the New Haven line during off-peak hours say they are very happy to hear they will be given more choice.
