An iconic Italian ice shop adored by Bridgeport residents for decades now has a store in Milford.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal honored Micalizzi's Italian Ice during the ribbon cutting ceremony on River Street.

Owner Jay Piccirillo, a former pro wrestler known as "the Ice Man," says you will not be disappointed.

He says the Milford business community has welcomed the venture with open arms.

Many restaurants in the region feature alcoholic beverages flavored with Micalizzi's Italian Ice - and a local brewery recently named a hard seltzer after the Ice Man.

He says his original Bridgeport store will continue to serve the community.
