A Milford nonprofit is set to celebrate five decades of supporting the local art scene.
The Milford Arts Council was founded by the City of Milford back in 1971.
It will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a four-hour gala at Lisman Landing Sept. 10, complete with performances, auctions and signature cocktails.
Organizers say they're helping connect artists of all kinds with audiences and collaborators.
"It allows our audiences to be exposed to some fantastic music and theater, that they otherwise might have to pay a lot more money to see, travel a great distance to see, and it's right here in their backyard," says Milford Arts Council executive director Paige Miglio.
