Milford couple seeks funds for special needs child
A Milford couple is hoping to raise $25,000 to help their 5-year-old son get the specialized care he needs.
Clarissa Rosado Jones and her husband Sean say their son, Brenden. has a rare form of child epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.
They say Brenden has to wear a helmet because he suffers from painful seizures, about 20 each day. They say he is unable to speak, intellectualize or perform the most basic daily functions independently.
The family is trying to raise $25,000 to help Brenden get specialized care which is not covered by insurance, in part because of the rareness of his condition.
Clarissa Rosado Jones says Brenden was born as a result of a sexual assault. She says she has never regretted her decision to have Brenden as her child.
A walk-a-thon at Foran High School in Milford is also planned to help raise money on Aug. 20 at 10 a.m.
