Many organizations are providing much-needed wildfire relief - and a Milford business is now pitching in to help, too.
SV Decker Jewlery is selling special palm tree necklaces, with all proceeds going directly to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
“I know we’re obviously the teeniest, tiniest business on the complete other side of the country," says owner Stefanie Decker says. "But I do believe it’s our responsibility as humans in general to do what we can."
The New Canaan native says people in Connecticut may not know how to help, but her necklaces are a great way to help victims while supporting small business in the community.
“In the most devastating moments," Decker says. "Humanity comes together, and proves to be the strongest."
Neighboring businesses say this is what the Milford small business community is all about.
"The ability to be in a position to help with what we have," Marie Chutjian, of Sunshine Ceramics says. "Owning a small business, and being able to give back to the community is just such a beautiful position to be in."
The necklaces are $46 each and come in gold and sterling silver.
