A Milford mom is in dire need of a kidney and is reaching out to the community for help.

Sherry King has battled type 2 diabetes since she was 12. Now at age 54, she is in stage 4 kidney failure.

She has been on dialysis for three years and has spent three years waiting for a kidney.

King needs a living donor and has O positive blood.

The National Kidney Foundation says Type O has the longest wait since they can only receive organs from donors with the same blood.
