The Milford Oyster Festival is back this year – despite the rise in COVID-19 cases and an impending tropical storm.
With cases on the rise, there will be no carnival rides, and proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test is required to get into the concert area.
With Tropical Storm Henri approaching, the Milford Oyster Festival Committee will remove the tents as soon as the festival is over Saturday night. They hope to finish cleaning up Sunday morning.
Milford Mayor Ben Blake says it's important for residents to start planning now for Henri.
Blake urges people to take the necessary precautions, including moving cars to high grounds if they live in low-lying areas and on the shore.
