The CDC recommended putting the vaccine on pause when a small number of people got serious blood clots which also lead to one death.
Health officials decided the benefits of the vaccine now outweigh the risks.
VACCINE APPOINTMENTS: Get appointment information
Local pharmacies are launching their restart of the J&J vaccine today.
Patients will get updated paperwork letting them know about the additional possible symptoms.
One local pharmacy in Milford is excited to be helping people in the community by administering the J&J dose.
The CDC had the vaccine on pause after concerns for at least 15 people who developed blood clots.
An advisory board announced on Friday that the benefits outweigh the risk.
A local pharmacist at Milford Pharmacy says interest in the one and done shot is high, and they are fully booked with appointments for it starting today.
Milford Pharmacy says they also offer the Moderna shot.
