School officials in Milford announced Tuesday that one of its schools will open late this year because of a construction project that is behind schedule.
School officials at West Shore Middle School say classes will begin three days late on Aug. 31. All other schools in Milford will begin on time.
Crews are hard at work at the school, but still have more to do. Officials say the extra time is needed to put the final touches on the classrooms.
School leaders will hold an open house for students and parents Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In addition, officials say the Milford Boys and Girls Club will open its doors to West Shore students for free on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The entire $15 million expansion project won't be done until next fall.
