Two years ago, doctors told John Tartaglio that he would never walk again, now Tartaglio is preparing to run the NYC marathon Sunday.A rare and massive infection robbed the 19-year-old of both legs and part of his left arm just two years ago. Since then the Fairfield University sophomore has made it his goal to prove that doctor wrong. His first accomplishments were learning to use his prosthetic legs and walking to receive his Foran High School diploma. Tartaglio?s story caught the eye of celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Derek Jeter, who both reached out to meet and congratulate him on his inspiring accomplishments. Tartaglio will run his first NYC marathon Sunday. He will complete the 26.2 miles using a special bicycle that he operates with his arms.
