The Stratford Animal Rescue Society is asking for donations to help a puppy in need of an amputation.

News 12’s Marissa Alter reported about the puppy named Moo that was rescued in June on Huntington Road in Stratford.

His rescuers say he was only 1-week-old and had an elastic band around his leg that was there for so long it cut through the fur and muscle, exposing the bone.

He's been in foster care ever since.

STARS is asking for $1,800 to cover the cost of that procedure.
