Connecticut residents are registering to vote in record numbers as the presidential primary approaches.
Secretary of State Denise Merrill says more than 76,000 people registered to vote between Jan. 1 and April 18.
The largest block of voters registered as Democrats with more than 36,000 people.
More than 16,000 registered as Republicans.
