The
Connecticut Mosquito Management Program announced that some mosquitoes
in Milford tested positive for West Nile virus.
They
say the mosquitoes that were tested were trapped on June 21.
Officials
say these are the first West Nile-positive mosquitos identified
by the state this year.
To
reduce being bitten by mosquitoes, the state recommends residents minimize time
spent outside between dusk and dawn, make sure door and window screens are in
good repair, and to wear long pants, socks and long sleeves when outdoors for
long periods of time.
