A new mural was unveiled over the weekend honoring the Sandy Hook Elementary School teacher who died trying to protect her students.
Community members gathered at the Victoria Soto School in Stratford Saturday, where the mosaic tile mural was dedicated in Soto's memory.
Residents say more than 800 students, teachers, staff, parents and community members helped create the mural.
"It feels awesome because I know that it's something that Vicki would love and the colors are just her, and it's kind of tranquil and surreal," says her brother, Matthew.
News 12 is told the mural is 60 feet long. The designers say they hope the mural brings happiness and peace to everyone.
