The Bronx and the rest of the country marked National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Wednesday.Community groups spent the day motivating the black community to get tested, know their HIV status and to get educated. Groups also reached out to those living with the disease and help with treatment and services.Organizers say the program, which is in its seventh year, wants to create change to bring the number of people affected by the disease down. They say the fight isn't about just one day, and will continue to work in local communities to prevent new infections and help those needing care and treatment.The Department of Health says in 2005, there were more than 21,000 people living in the Bronx with AIDS.
