A Bridgeport woman says she's concerned about the safety of two dogs that were left tied up behind an abandoned building next door to her home on Columbia Court. Mary Ware says the dogs' owner, who is homeless, was staying at the property next door illegally. She says he left the dogs there when he was evicted four days ago, leaving them to endure several nights outside in severe weather. Ware says she and her son have been listening to the dogs' heart-breaking cries around the clock. She says she's reluctant to untie them in case they turn out to be vicious. Ware called the authorities and says police came out to provide food and water, but the dogs have not yet been taken to an animal shelter.
