Residents in one of Connecticut?s oldest neighborhoods are checking their locks after recent home invasions.
The Academy Hill Historic District in Stratford has been targeted by intruders possibly because of its charm and character, according to neighbors of a recently burglarized home. Most neighbors agree that the police presence in their area is prevalent.
Residents of 1740 Curtis Mansion say that more should have been done to prevent their home from being robbed Saturday of $25,000 worth of valuables. Stratford police have stepped up their patrols in the area as a result of the break-ins.
A crime watch meeting will be held Wednesday night on the second floor of the Stratford police station.
