Some residents in the Rowayton section of Norwalk are split on the idea of putting a pool at Bayley Beach.
The plan calls for a six-lane pool to be built at the beach. Those for the project say a pool in the spot would be perfect, especially for children. Critics fear the pool will destroy wetlands and ruin the beach?s character.
The pool would not be free to residents. Those who want to use the pool would be charged a membership fee. Those fees would be used to keep the facility maintained, therefore the pool would not cost taxpayers money.
If the plan is approved, the Rowayton Pool Committee will have a green light to pursue an architect and the necessary permits.
