The newest branch of the Bridgeport Public Library opened Saturday.
A grand celebration and ribbon cutting was held for the
Beardsley Branch on East Main Street.
Along with books, the branch features state-of-the-art podcast and media labs and a community room.
Staff tell News 12 say they are excited for the location to be open.
"This library is so important for the community...this is the one new construction project that I've been getting constant calls from the community, 'When is it going to be open?'" says librarian Elaine Braithwaite.
Officials say the library is a good and positive edition to the area and will provide a safe space for kids and adults.
The library is open Monday through Saturday.
